Community Affairs

From its founding in 1883 through the present day, PPG’s history reflects its dedication to enriching the communities where it has a presence. In fact, one of the first Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company donations on record in the late 1800s was to the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – an organization we continue to support today.

Since the PPG Industries Foundation was formalized in 1951, it has generously contributed millions of dollars to organizations that address the educational, human services, cultural and arts, and civic and community affairs needs of the people and regions they serve.

As our world has changed, so has PPG. Our charitable giving and its impact have reflected PPG’s growth through innovation, expansion and success. Through our new Global Charitable Contributions Program, PPG recently extended its support to efforts in communities throughout Canada, Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa, complementing its history of supporting U.S. organizations.
